Reflections House
Reflections House is a male-only social enterprise providing 24/7 supported accommodation in a residential setting in Castleford (West Yorkshire), about 25 minutes from Doncaster. Run primarily by people in recovery, for people wanting recovery.
People with addiction issues are generally undisciplined people with certain needs for support, structure, and guidance. So at Reflections they offer daily structure: a full 12-step programme, one-to-one counselling, two group sessions a day, art therapy, peer-led groups, a work programme, and a daily bedtime routine and chores.
The dedicated team of staff and volunteers, most of whom have been residents themselves, are on hand 24/7. As of August 2021 they reported a 75% success rate of residents who completed the 12-step programme remaining clean. Many former residents stay on after moving to independent living to volunteer.
It is, as the team put it, basically one big family, helping each other daily.
