Give directly to Phoenix

Nobody funds this. The directory, the leaflets that go into GP surgeries and pharmacies, the posters, the cost of keeping the site up, it all comes out of pockets. Money sent to the account below pays for that, and it pays nobody a wage.

This one is for people who have got it spare. People who are steady now, families who came out the other side, workers, local businesses. If you are skint, or you are in your first few months, or money is the thing that is hurting you, this is not for you. Use the site instead. It is free and it stays free, and sending somebody the directory link when they need it is worth more to us than a tenner.

A fiver a month is the most useful thing you can give us. Not because it is more money, it is not, but because we can plan with it. It means ordering leaflets before somebody asks for one rather than after. Set up a standing order in your banking app, stop it whenever you want, and we will never chase you.

Copy all three details Saves swapping back and forth between here and your banking app three times. Your phone may ask whether to allow paste. That is your phone being careful, it is fine to say yes.

When you set the payment up, your bank will check the name and show it back to you. It will read Pheonix Recovery Hub. Yes, that spelling is right, it is how the account was set up at the bank. If your bank shows you anything else, stop and check with us before you send a penny.

Put your name as the reference so we know who to thank, or put DONATION if you would rather we did not know. Worth knowing before you send it: our account name shows up on your own bank statement too.

A one off is welcome as well, same details. There is no minimum and we are not counting.

Being straight with you

• We will never tell you our details have changed. This page is the only place we publish them. If a message, an email or a comment on social claims our bank details have changed, it is not from us. Check with us first.
• There is no Gift Aid on this. Phoenix is a community project and not a registered charity, so we are not on the Charity Commission register. Do not fill in a Gift Aid form for a Phoenix donation, and if you are a business you cannot claim tax relief on it yet. Your donation is worth exactly what you send.
• Changed your mind, or sent more than you could afford? Tell us and we will send it straight back. Same if you are a family member worried about a donation someone has made. No questions, and it will not change how we treat you.
• What we do with your name. A transfer shows us your name, your reference and the amount. We keep that to say thank you, to answer questions about it later and to keep honest accounts, for six years, and then we delete it. Donating does not put you on a mailing list. More in our privacy policy.
• If Phoenix ever stops running, anything left of what people have given goes to another Doncaster organisation doing the same work with people in recovery. It does not go to Ryan and it does not go to anyone else here.
• Ask us any time what your money went on and we will tell you.

Where your money goes, and who it does not pay

Phoenix Recovery Hub is run by people in recovery, for people in recovery and the families around them. Nobody at Phoenix takes a salary out of the money you send to the account above. Ryan and everyone helping give their time free.

One thing worth being straight about, because you should hear it from us rather than work it out. Our joint Fresh Start Community Hub appeal with Reflections Yorkshire CIC does budget for paid sessional hours, because running a weekly drop-in safely needs somebody reliable there every week and goodwill alone will not do it. That is a separate appeal, the money is raised and handled through Crowdfunder, and the full line by line budget is on the Fresh Start Community Hub page. What you send to the Phoenix account is a different pot, and it pays nobody.

• Awareness materials: leaflets, posters and QR-code campaigns placed where people in active addiction actually go (GP surgeries, pharmacies, food banks, supported accommodation).
• Community outreach: showing up at recovery events, speaking in schools and prisons, running stalls at community days.
• Family support work: building out the resources and signposting on this site for the people behind the person.
• Keeping the platform running: hosting, the directory data, and the next things we want to build.

That is where we plan to spend what comes in. If one of these ends up costing less than we thought, the difference goes into the others on this list, and nowhere else.

Other ways to support us

If money is not what you can give right now, that is genuinely fine.

• Share the directory. If you know someone struggling, or someone supporting them, send them the link. phoenixrecoveryhub.co.uk/local-services lists 145 Doncaster services, it is free, and the more people who use it the more useful it gets.
• Tell a service we exist. If you work in a GP surgery, a pharmacy, a community group, a school or a charity, mention Phoenix to colleagues. We will send free leaflets or QR posters anywhere they will be useful.
• Volunteer your skills. We are always looking for people with lived experience to help with peer support, writing, social media, photography, or running stalls at events. Get in touch.

A note on charity status

Phoenix Recovery Hub is a community project, not a registered charity. We are not on the Charity Commission register and we are not regulated by the Commission. There is no Gift Aid on anything you give us, and if you are a business you cannot claim tax relief on a donation to us yet.

We keep a record of every donation and what it paid for, and we will send you an acknowledgement if you would like one. That is a record of your gift rather than a tax receipt, because we cannot offer Gift Aid.

We intend to apply for charity status once we can meet the requirements. When we get there we will put the number on this page and tell you what it changes.
