Ryan’s Three Peaks Challenge

In aid of Addiction Family Support

£2,101 + £256 Gift Aid of £5,000 47%

Ending 30 September 2026

Hi, my name’s Ryan, I’m an addict and an alcoholic in recovery.

I’ve been clean and sober now for almost three years, and I’ve spent that time giving back to the place that helped me heal, through service, sponsorship, and gratitude, something I will be forever grateful for.

Now, I want to take that further. I want to help the people who are affected indirectly by addiction, the mums, the dads, the partners, the kids the list is unamountable.

Through my own experience, I know my actions didn’t just affect me. My wife and my children were sometimes hostages in our own home… and my mum, friends and family were heartbroken watching me destroy myself.

My family were sometimes left in impossible situations through no fault of there own, sometimes homeless with nowhere to turn for support.

I’m one of the lucky ones. My family stood by me. And I’ve spent nearly three years making amends, a lifelong action I’ll never stop taking. Not everyone gets that chance. Some are left homeless, widowed, orphaned, the list goes on.

So I’m taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Addiction Family Support, a charity that helps the families left behind by addiction.

The target’s five grand… but my heart says £10k - I am an addict after all!

If you can, please donate. Every little bit goes a long way.

I’m Ryan, addict in recovery, and together, we can make a difference.

An emotional one today.

Yesterday was tough. Really tough.

The heat, my health, and the conditions pushed me further than I expected. I must have given up a thousand times in my head. But every time I wanted to stop, I thought about why I was doing this.

The charity is called Addiction Family Support, but the truth is, it's your support that keeps me going. Every message, every kind word, every donation reminds me that none of us have to do difficult things alone.

You are family.

As always, we turned up completely unprepared! We parked in the wrong car park and accidentally took one of the hardest routes. Then we got lost on the way back.

By the end of the day we'd covered over 20 miles, scrambling up rock faces, climbing back down them, and constantly pouring freezing river water over our heads just to keep cool. The last two miles were simply about putting one foot in front of the other.

When my head was telling me to quit, your support gave me another reason to keep climbing.

Thank you to every single person who has donated, shared, commented or simply believed in what we're trying to do. Together we're raising money for Addiction Family Support, helping families who often feel alone in the battle with addiction.

We've still got a long way to go, but I truly believe we'll get there.

2 peaks down. 1 to go.

Ben Nevis is the last climb, and the hardest. Every pound gets Ryan closer to the summit, and closer to £5,000 for the families that addiction leaves behind.
